While the All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued to grapple with rooted internal crisis from the National, State and even to the Ward levels, it has once again added to its many troubles a gale of defection.

Amidst the political turf for supremacy by the leaders of the groom-wielding party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and of course the ruling party in the State is daily benefitting from their woes, with the recent exodus of their leaders from Ukanafun and other local government areas.

Yesterday, the PDP witnessed as stalwarts of the APC officially denounced their faith before crossing over to the ruling party in the State.

Top among members who defected were the Leader of APC in Ukanafun LGA and the 2015 APC Flag-bearer for Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Deac. Eshiet Offiong , Hon. Elder Iniobong Udoumoh, Hon. Bennett and thousands of their followers.

, himself a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy of the State.

Mr. Hanson who assured them of a better deal in the PDP, however, charged the decampees to be steadfast, focus and faithful to the Peoples Democratic Party while waiting to be subsequently received at the larger Ward congress by the Ward political leader, Mr. Census Ekpu.

Those present at the reception of the decampees at Ikot Effiong Unit 2 & 3 were Deputy Ward Leader, Mr. Uduakobong Hanson, Ward Councilor, Hon. King Sunday

James, Ukanafun LGA Council Secretary, Mr.  Mfreke Elijah

, former Transition Member, Mr. Edidiong Akpan,  Dr. King Ibritam, Mr. Ime Morgan, Women, Elders as well as the youths of the community.
