The splendour of royalty will be displayed on Saturday March 27, 2021 at the QIC Primary School, Okon, Eket Local Government Area when His Royal Highness, Etebom Akpabio Ekpoton Inyang 111, officially mounts his exalted throne as Clan Head of Okon.
In a release signed by Hon Ekanem Willie, head of publicity and Mr Fabian Essiet, Chairman planning committee and made available to the press, “the Okon Clan Council on behalf of Okon people of Eket Local Government Area invites the good people of Akwa Ibom State and diaspora to the coronation ceremony with His Excellency, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel expected as Special Guest of Honour”.
The release further stated that the event will reveal the rich cultural heritage of the people through dances and ancestral exhibitions.
The Deputy Governor of the State, His Excellency Moses Ekpo and the honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Frank Archibong are slated as Guests of Honour while Chairman of the occasion remains the majestic royal father himself, Edidem E. C. D. Abia, Paramount Ruler of Eket.
His Eminence, Eteyin (Dr) Solomon D. Etuk who is the Oku Ibom Ibibio will grace the event as father of the day while Rt Hon Akaninyene Tommy Ikot, Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government Area will have his seat as host.
