…as Amazing Aniebiet Francis emerges first Chairperson of the Association of Movie Producers in Akwa Ibom State
Saturday, May 1, 2021, the Association of Movie Producers, AMP was officially inaugurated in Akwa Ibom State with a bonafide Executive Council to direct the affairs of the Association for the next two years.
The keenly contested elections which held at Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, with fifty seven (57) accredited voters, all registered members of the Association was peaceful and very orderly.
The election was conducted by a delegation from the Headquarters of the Association, led by the National Financial Secretary, Tony Chukwuma. Other members of the delegation were Aik Ike, Chairperson, Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Okoroji, Chairman, Rivers State and the Chief of Staff to the National President of the Association, Songito Ashiedu.
At the end of elections, Amazing Aniebiet Francis emerged the winner of the polls with Forty Seven (47) votes and was duly sworn in as the pioneer Chairperson of the Association in Akwa Ibom State.

The elections was also observed by veteran Akwa Ibom movie-preneur, Producer and Actor Mr Keppy Ekpenyong who charged the new executive to give their utmost to the growth of the Association and also tasked the members of the Association to work in concert with the inaugurated Executives to ensure that the Association thrives in Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking during her inaugural speech, Ms Francis assured the Association of her commitment and dedication to the task of the Association and promised to do everything within her powers to unite Producers in the state, improve their capacity through capacity building initiatives, advocate for the establishment of a Producers Trust Fund to facilitate access to interest free loans for Producers within the Chapter and to ensure a smooth linkage between the Chapter and the National umbrella of the Association.
The Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Entertainment, Sergeant David (Utang Akwa Ibom) and his Talent Hunt Counterpart, Mr Emmanuel Owuala both expressed their satisfaction at the smooth conduct of the elections and expressed their confidence in the capacity of the elected chairperson and indeed all the members of the Executive Council to deliver on the tasks of their new office.
